Fix Internet Explorer Not Responding Error

Problem :

I have found that after several weeks of constant "not responding" messages while doing a search function on any of the three major search engines - when I made Google Chrome my default browser that all problems ceased.

But silly me...I continued to click on the "e" on my desktop to access the internet and that was going back to internet Explorer as the browser so I deleted all the "e" shortcuts from the desktop, task bars, etc and just click on the Google icon to access the internet and all worked out perfectly. I know that I didn't have to "delete" the "e" shortcuts but why leave clutter on the desktop if I won't be using them anymore.

Youtube Videos Keep Crashing on Internet Browsers

Problem :

Every time I try to watch a youtube video, it crashes my google chrome, I tried using Safari, but it did exactly the same thing, it freezes for a while, and then it comes up with shockwave player is unresponsive. i've done everything all the other questions suggested, i restarted, i cleared my cache and i made sure i had the latest version of shockwave, is there any other possible reason why this is happening???????

Solution :

It is possible that you may face the problem of YouTube crash due to memory leak in the web browser. The browser will get memory leak issues due to the web cache or history increased in great amount. The simultaneous opening of large number of videos in YouTube fills up the browser cache. You can clear the browser cache and web history to fix the issue. It requires much space for playing YouTube video. You can access the web history from the menu bar of browser and can remove these entries. It is also possible to use some history removal tools for this purpose.

Fix HP Network Printer Offline Error

Problem :

I have an HP J6480 all-in-one printer that is connected to a wireless network.  The printer is indicating offline all the time recently.   It was sporatic before and I could get it online by powering off and then on.  I am having no luck getting it back online in my wireless system.  it will print when coneected directly to my laptop.  Any suggestions?

Solution :

Auto continue provides two settings, off and on (the default).

If the printer is on a network, it should probably be set to ‘On‘.

The on setting causes the message which appears on the printer control panel display, and the printer goes offline for ten seconds, before returning online if an error occurs that prevents printing.

The ‘Off‘ setting causes the messages to remain on the printer control panel display, and the printer to remain offline until ‘Select‘ is pressed, if an error occurs that prevents printing.

Fix Windows 7 Youtube Freezes Problem

Problem :

I had Windows XP installed on my laptop before I installed Windows 7. When I had Windows XP installed I wouldn't have any problems. I tried youtube on both Mozilla FireFox and Internet Explorer each time it froze my computer about halfway though the movie.

Solution :

1) Test your Flash and Javascript from the following web pages respectively.
 http://www.youtube.com/swf_test.html
 http://www.rcrt.co.uk/onlinetools/browsers/javascripttester.jsp

(2) After you restarting the browser check for the addons required for playing the video are enabled or not. To view them goto Internet Options, select Programs Tab and click on Manage Addons.

(3) Try by uninstalling any newly installed softwares or some software which you think those might causing problem or try by System Restore.

And, for 64 bit browsers the Addons are not available yet, try 32 bit browsers.

Fix Windows 7 Wireless Printer Offline Error

Problem :

I have a wireless printer installed and am running my laptop with Windows 7. Everytime I reboot the laptop, it fails to find the printer and marks it as offline. Sometimes I can restore it by deleting and then re-adding the printer from the control panel. The printer is a new HP wireless model, and I have installed the driver successfully, I should not have to re-install this everytime. Is this a Windows 7 issue, and how do I solve it?

Solution :

The solution to fix windows 7 printer offline error is to check the proper connection of the printer.

Two options exist to turn off the offline mode.

If you choose the first option to change the offline state of the printer, then go to Control Panel and then ‘Printer and Faxes’ option on the Control Panel.

Double-click on the printer you want to change to online mode from the displayed window.

A pop-up window will open and you need to select ‘Uncheck Printer Offline‘ option from the menu bar.

Windows 7 Flash Drive Problem

Problem :

When I attached the flash drive to windows 7  it read it install the right drivers and said it was ready. The problem is that when I clicked on "my computer" i did not see it and then when I went to "Devices" in "Control Panel" it was there. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive to see if that help but i did not and I also tried to update but it was up to date. I dont know what to do the computer knows it is there but does not show it as a Drive.

Solution :

Before storing Windows 7 Operating System into the USB flash drive, you need to make your flash drive free from the virus. And also check the storage capacity of USB flash drive. Encounter the USB port connectivity in your system and you might check the compatibility of the USB device.

Fix Printer Error 79.00FE Message

Problem :

When I print some PDFs on my HP 4050 or 8000 printer, including some PDFs that I created using Adobe Distiller 5.0 using the default "Print" job option (Acrobat 4.0(PDF 1.3) Compatibility), I have the 79.00 FE PRINTER ERROR. My systems support person says that this Compatibility thing is eqivalent to PostScript Level. And our HP 8000 and HP 4050 laser printers do not support PostScript 3; they support only PostScript 2. Because I create the PDFs using 4.0 Compatibility (same as PostScript Level 4?), I am not going to be able to print them on these printers. However, they can be printed on HP 4100, which supports PostScript 3 (even though not Compatbility/PostScript 4). Now my Distiller 5.0 (presumably any higher version too) does not support anything lower than Compatibility 3.0 - it cannot create a PDF of Compatibility 2.1 for example. Now, is Adobe so stupid that it removes this PostScript 2 support from Distiller such that the PDFs it creates cannot be printed on certain printers? Any cure? Any comment?

Solution :

In order to fix the 79.00FE printer error, first you have to print a configuration page. Then remove the jet direct and power on while holding the go button down on the printer. After display reads offline, the reset process is complete. After the cold reset, remove the jet direct card and see if the 79.00FE error goes away. If the 79.00FE error appears before a job is sent then it may be the DIMMS, try removing them to see if the error persists.

Fix WIndows 7 Audio Driver Problems

Problem :

I have HP dv5000 series laptop, running a Turion 64 bit processor,2 gb of ddr ram,80 gig hard drive...64bit versions of Vista Ultimate and also Windows7 build 7100 RC installed,(all on separate hard drives).
Sound card will not start....I also have another hard drive with XP pro installed which runs flawlessly...I have backed up all XP drivers and loaded on a flash drive and have set the update drivers in both Vista and Win 7 to install drivers for the sound card using the XP drivers with no progress...Hp has been contacted and was told that the hp dv5000 series is discontinued and no further information or drivers are available.
I also contacted the maker of the sound card which is Altec Lansing and was told to contact HP for a new driver package.
Catch 22...lol
Is there any way to install this Altec Lansing sound card to be compatable with Vista and Win7?
I see no other option other than give up on this HP product and get a new laptop.

Solution :

I would suggest you to follow the steps as below to fix Windows 7 Audio Driver Problem and check if it helps.

Step 1:

1. ClickStart and type gpedit.msc in the Start Search and pressEnter.

2. OnceLocal Group Policy Editor is open navigate to:

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Driver Installation

3. On the right pane, double click on“Turn Off Windows Update Device Driver Search Prompt” and selectEnabled and click OK.

4. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Note: This will not disable the Windows Update; it will only stop prompting you to update the device driver using Windows Update. You will still be able to update the driver by manually going to Windows Update.

Step 2:

Uninstall audio drivers completely and then install the driver that is working.

1. Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then pressENTER.

2. In the Device Manager dialog box, expandSound, video, and game controllers.

3. Locate the audio device that was included with the computer.

3. Right-click the device, and then clickProperties.

4. Click theDriver tab, and then click Uninstall.

5. Place a check mark next to"Delete the Driver Software for this device" check box, and then click OK.

6. Install the driver that is working.

7. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Hope this helps

Windows 7 Extremely Slow on Start Up

Problem :

I have Windows 7 installed on 2 computers.  1st was a clean install on a Gateway laptop (about 3 yrs old) Everything worked perfectly.  Start up is very fast and I have NO complaints.

2nd was an install in my brand new HP HDX18 - Quad Core, 8gb mem, 2 hard drives, etc.  Startup is taking 10+ min. I have disabled all startup services (except msft), I dont have any external hd's attached at the time of boot up, I set my coputer to use original boot config.  I am running out of things to try.  Any ideas....

Solution :

What I noticed after evaluating windows on different machine.
1st machine was a clean one the system Windows 7 worked properly without any problem on the performance issue. I also had installed several applications, and different kind of documents to make sure that the system worked properly. there was no a real issue of performace even after reboott the system several time.
howerver the second machine  had windows vista ultimate on it. after an upgrade from vista to windows 7 I noticed that there is a real poor performance on the system. I had to wait more that 10 minutes just to make sure that all the drivers and services are all loaded still the system was poorly performing. and sometimes  certain applications do not respond. this was the first  test. on the same machine I reformat the system and installed windows 7 re-install all the necessary applications and restore all the document. the system was performing properly. unfortunately I advice that the minimum memory requirement should be two GB to properly running windows 7 Hope that with the final version of Windows 7 Microsoft will take into consideration the following issue:
1- Better performance in comparaison with Windows Vista
2  Security  issue need to be tackle seriously this time
3- Compatibility with certain application that run only on older version
4- Networking issue specially the sharing application
